Bizarre and Fascinating Secrets of the Wild You Wouldn’t Know Without This Trail Cam Footage

Return of the Flying Squirrel

Flying squirrels are a type of animal that can glide through the air. They are most active at night, and this one looks like it's going straight for the deer, which is running for its life. We don't think the deer knows it's a lot bigger than the flying rodent and that the chase should be the other way around.

But deer are scared animals because they have been hunted for hundreds of years. They are more aware because their sense of smell and hearing are so good. That makes them anxious even among tiny animals that they think might be dangerous. But can we blame them when we'd freak out even more if we saw a flying cockroach?

Close-Up of a Cheetah

Nobody wants a wild cheetah to stare at them so hard. These large cats are top predators and their claws don't retract. Plus, they are the quickest land creatures, so you can't outrun them. But thankfully, the cat in our picture is simply a display at the Museum of Natural History in Geneva, which is also known as the Dead Animal Museum. There are a lot of stuffed animals and birds in the tourist attraction's rooms, and they look so convincing that people could think they are real at first. It's wonderful to have a sculpture of cheetahs in case they go extinct because they are a fragile species.
