The rut is a time of year for deer. The rut is a term for the intense fights that male deer have during the breeding season to show who is in charge and get a mate. That fight is definitely between these two bucks since their antlers seem like they are locked in combat.

Bucks use their antlers to push, shove, and hit each other as a way to show how strong they are. The fight can be so bad that people can get hurt badly or even die, but this doesn't happen very often. Sometimes, one buck gives up and the fight is over. It would be crazy to see it in person.

It appears like a coyote and a deer are fighting, and the buck isn't giving up. Even though the coyote is one of the buck's predators, it doesn't look terrified of it. When a deer is afraid, it will flatten its tail so that just the brown fur shows. Even though the buck had apparent bite wounds, this is not the case. Coyotes normally hunt with other coyotes or by themselves, but this one looks like it's by itself. That could be why this deer is brave enough to fight back. It might also be too hurt to run away, and it might have a higher chance of living if it doesn't turn its back on the coyote.
