Deer Sorority Sisters

People say that we're stronger together than we are alone, and the deer appear to believe that. Seeing them all together here is nearly as alarming as running into a cult group in the woods. But it's not unusual to see them all together like this.

Deer are particularly gregarious animals, thus they move in groups called herds. There are times when males and females travel together and times when they go alone. This photo shows that this is a female herd because most females don't have antlers. Deer stick together to remain safe from predators and to have friends.

Sea Otter With The Munchies

Sea otters are one of the tiniest marine mammals, but they can still be very deadly and aggressive when they need to be. At least this one is only eating a fish. Wait until you watch it chase snakes to add to its diet! The head of the International Union for Conservation of Nature's Otter Specialist Group said that sea mammals are sociable, even though they stay away from people. We're glad they keep away after hearing that one person who was attacked by an otter got approximately 200 stitches.
