Marmite is like Australia's Vegemite in that you either love it or detest it. A lot of people adore the thick yeast paste, but it hasn't created the same impression all across the world. This could be because Marmite is banned in Canada and Denmark.  

There are a lot of extra ingredients in Marmite that help it stay fresh for months at a time. These countries have stopped selling it in grocery stores because of these additions.
