This also implies that workers sometimes have to work extra hours without getting paid for them. The government has tried to stop this and other work-related problems in the past few years, but they still seem to be a problem and probably won't go away anytime soon.

In Japan, workers are legally entitled to extra pay, and their overtime hours can't go over a set limit. However, many employers don't respect these rules.
