Japanese Life Rules That Might Seem Foreign To Visitors

You Shouldn't Eat While Walking In Japan

Like in many other Asian countries, Japan has a lot of rules and traditions about food and eating. One of these customs is eating while walking. In short, don't do it. There are a few exceptions, though. It seems that eating while on the go, such on a bus or metro train, is fine. whatever people think it's normal to consume ice cream while walking down the street for whatever reason.

You probably don't want to sit down and eat ice cream because it melts quickly and won't wait for you to locate a spot to sit. If you're next to a vending machine, it's also okay to drink your drink.
