Japanese Life Rules That Might Seem Foreign To Visitors

Don't Use Oshibori To Clean Your Face

If you've ever been on a plane, you probably got a wet towel. "Oshibori" are like them, but you use them to wash your hands before you pray before a meal. Because of this, it's disrespectful to use these towels to wash your face. We know that people wouldn't care if a tourist did this, especially if they didn't know any better, but it's still something to think about.

This is obviously obvious, but it's also not okay to use these as napkins while you're eating. Most of the time, oshibori are stored on the edge of a table. If you're not sure, just look at where the towel is.
