The Worst Snow in North Dakotan History

That's correct. In this picture, you can see a power mast sticking out of a lot of snow. This was the worst snowstorm ever to hit North Dakota. In March 1966, a blizzard dumped 20 to 30 inches of snow across the state. Along with gusts of 70 miles per hour, this caused snow to pile up to spectacular heights in some places. Some were as tall as 40 feet!

Bill Koch, who works for the US Department of Transportation, is the man in the picture. We don't want his job that day; we guess he had a lot to do!
