Unique Ramadan Traditions From Across the World

Bananas Are a Big Deal in Uganda

The majority of Ugandans are Christian, but about 14% of them are Muslim. They have their own Ramadan traditions and foods that they love to eat. For example, they add bananas to their Iftar meals, which is different from how people around the world do it. They think bananas are very important and can't get enough of them.

This makes sense when you think about it. People in Uganda fast for around 12 hours a day, so they presumably need the slow-releasing energy and potassium from the bananas to stay healthy and active when they are fasting.
