Unique Ramadan Traditions From Across the World

Restaurants Are Closed in Sri Lanka

You might not know this, but Islam is the third largest religion in Sri Lanka. Muslims who follow Ramadan have their own traditions that they like to follow. One of these traditions makes it easier for them to fast: they close all the restaurants and coffee shops until the sun goes down and it's time for Iftar. This takes away any desire to break their fast.

Muslims in Sri Lanka also do everything they can to help people who couldn't make Iftar during Ramadan. They set up temporary food stores near to mosques and offer food to anybody who need it.
