Unique Ramadan Traditions From Across the World

Russians Have to Fast for a Long Time

There are more than 25 million Muslims in Russia, so it's not surprising that Ramadan traditions and the smells of Ramadan foods fill the country during this month. But for some people, fasting during this time can be very hard because some parts of Russia have an amazing 22 hours of daylight a day. This means they have to fast for 22 hours and only have 2 hours to pray and eat their Iftah.

Some Muslims can't fast throughout Ramadan because it's not safe or healthy for them. If this happens, they can give money to charity instead.
