People who grew up in the 1980s will remember Ralph David Carter as Michael Evans from the CBS comedy "Good Times" or as Travis Younger from the Broadway musical "Raisin," where he started at age nine. The American actor and vocalist earned the Drama Desk and Theater World Awards for Most Promising Performer and was nominated for the 1974 Tony Award for Best Featured Actor in a Musical.

Ralph worked in the movie business from 1970 to 1987, when he stopped being in the public eye. He works with a group that honors Black Theater in New York City these days.
